Laramie County School District Number Two continues to offer an after school program for ALL Elementary students currently enrolled in LCSD #2. A.L.E.X. is an extended school day program offered to students in grades K – 6. This extension of the regular school day provides additional time for homework help, corrective instruction, and enrichment opportunities. LCSD #2 offers the A.L.E.X. program at West Elementary in Burns and Pine Bluffs Elementary at no charge to parents. Funding for A.L.E.X. is through state and federal grants. Bussing is provided for students at Carpenter Elementary and Albin Elementary. Parents will be responsible for picking up their children from A.L.E.X. locations no later than 6:00 p.m. on regular school days.

The A.L.E.X. program is offered to students Monday through Friday when the regular school day ends until 6:00 p.m.   On Wednesday afternoons, students who stay for the optional programs at their elementary are invited to also stay for A.L.E.X. Students, who attend A.L.E.X. on Wednesday, must remain at school after the 1:00 dismissal.

A.L.E.X. will not be in session on the following days:

-- August 26 – 29 (Early Release/In-service)
            -- November 6 (Early Release for Parent/Teacher Conferences)
            -- November 26 (Early Release for Thanksgiving Break)
            -- February 27 (Early Release)
            -- May 28 (Early Release – Last Day of School)

Registration is open and ongoing throughout the school year. Parents please complete and submit the registration form before your child participates in A.L.E.X. Registration forms are available at the Elementary School Office where your child attends.
